Escalating tariffs are already eroding the U.S. economy -- here's how

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell again on Thursday, its eighth consecutive daily decline. Financial experts blame the recent tariff tumult between the U.S. and China for the downward shift in the U.S. economy.

Last week, President Donald Trump announced $50 billion in new tariffs on Chinese goods. China immediately retaliated, which prompted President Trump to threaten an additional $200 billion in tariffs.
