Asked about Los Angeles Democrats' racist remarks, Jean-Pierre blasts ... 'MAGA Republicans'?

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about the recent scandal involving three Los Angeles City Council members who were caught on tape having a conversation that was chock-full of ugly racist remarks. While the councilmembers heard in the now-leaked recording were all Democrats, Jean-Pierre somehow turned her answer into yet another opportunity to bash "MAGA Republicans."

"The president is glad to see that one of the participants in that conversation has resigned but they all should," Jean-Pierre said of Council President Nury Martinez who announced she is resigning as council president on Monday but is still a member of the city council.

"The language that was used and tolerated during that conversation was unacceptable, and it was appalling," she continued. "They should all step down, and here's the difference between Democrats and MAGA Republicans. When a Democrat says something racist or anti-Semitic, we would, we hold them, we hold Democrats accountable. When a MAGA Republican says something racist and, or anti-Semitic, they are embraced by cheering crowds and become celebrated and sought after endorsements."

Even the one council member who did resign only resigned from the position of president, not from the Los Angeles legislative body, while Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom remains silent on the entire scandal. Also, who the heck are these "MAGA Republicans" being celebrated and embraced by cheering crowds for being racists?
