Whitlock: Does Michael Oher want a WOKE REMAKE of 'The Blind Side'?

Michael Oher’s story made waves after being depicted in the 2009 film “The Blind Side.” The film tells the story of his growing relationship with the Tuohy family and following rise to NFL stardom — with the help of the Tuohys, whom many viewers assume adopted him.

Now, Oher is suing the Tuohy family, alleging they never legally adopted him and entered a conservatorship in order to profit off of him.

The lawsuit demands that the Tuohy family end their conservatorship over Oher, which has been in place since just after his 18th birthday.

Jason Whitlock isn’t convinced that Michael Oher is telling the truth and believes he may be attempting to rewrite his own history.

“This kid came to that family with some severe problems. He couldn’t read at age 16. And he had to be taught how to shake hands. He didn’t engage with people. He had faced so much neglect, trauma, abandonment from ages 0 to 15 or 16,” Whitlock tells Glenn Beck.

Another grievance Oher has with the film is that he believes it makes him look dumb.

“I didn’t get the impression he was stupid, I got the impression that he had been neglected and he had never been taught any of these things,” Whitlock adds.

Glenn asks Whitlock whether he believes Oher is telling the truth about being unaware that he was never adopted and rather was entered into a conservatorship.

“In his 2011 memoir, he writes about the conservatorship. Knew that he was not adopted. This is all a rewriting of history as it relates to their motivation,” Whitlock says.

Whitlock also says the Tuohy family discovered Oher’s football talent after he had moved into their home.

“So this whole thing like they knew there was NFL riches and he was this great prospect — no. He was a 6-foot-5, 345 pound kid when they got him, and they hoped they could turn him into some Division II, Division III basketball player and get him educated that way.”

“It’s a whole recreation of history,” Whitlock adds.
