Appalling: Biden creates 'shrinkflation' task force to blame companies for HIS failures

After years of skyrocketing prices under his watch, President Biden is launching a new “shrinkflation” task force to crack down on the “unfair and illegal pricing” of goods.

Not only is Glenn Beck well aware that it’s actually Biden’s economic policies that are to blame, he finds the task force “a little terrifying.”

Former investment banker Carol Roth agrees, noting that what the Biden administration deems “unfair and illegal” may not be in line with the words' actual definitions.

“Illegal is one thing, and there’s a certain definition, at least today. Who knows what that could be expanded to. But unfair is obviously anything that they don’t happen to like or agree with or is against their policy,” Roth explains.

Not only is the wording an issue, but price controls historically don’t work.

“One of the things that we know in economics, just across the board, is that price controls don’t work,” Roth tells Glenn. “That’s something that creates rationing, creates good shortages.”

“Even Paul Krugman, who gets every single wrong, the one thing he has ever gotten right is he is against rent control,” she adds.

If the task force makes good on its promises, the government would be able to step in and penalize people who are making a profit.

“That is a recipe for disaster,” Roth says, adding, “and is obviously, completely the opposite of free market capitalism.”

“When the government tells companies what to do, it’s a move that fascists make,” Glenn says. “I’m concerned about this.”
