The REAL REASON leftists are bashing top-performing film 'Sound of Freedom'

“Sound of Freedom” is based on the real life of Tim Ballard, a former Homeland Security agent who founded Operation Underground Railroad, an organization that rescues children from trafficking and exploitation.

Released on July 4, this independently produced drama is significantly outperforming big studio blockbusters despite its relatively low budget.

In just a few days, the film has grossed over $40 million, and that number will only continue to climb once the film is released internationally.

Further, Angel Studios, which produced the film, has received numerous reports of sold-out showtimes and standing ovations across the country.

People love this movie.

And yet, despite its widespread popularity, critics are condemning the film, claiming that it perpetuates the white savior trope and exaggerates the issue of human trafficking.

Rolling Stone released an article titled, “‘Sound of Freedom’ Is a Superhero Movie for Dads With Brainworms: The QAnon-tinged thriller about child-trafficking is designed to appeal to the conscience of a conspiracy-addled boomer.”

The author of the article, Miles Klee, writes that the film is built upon “a hackneyed white-savior narrative” and is nothing more than a “vigilante fever dream.”

He also criticizes the film’s preoccupation with trafficked children and instead points to other types of suffering he clearly thinks are more worthy of attention, including the “poor and unhoused,” “people brutalized by police,” and “climate disasters.”

Klee scoffs at the “thousands of adults [who] will absorb ‘Sound of Freedom’ ... and come away thinking themselves better informed on a hidden civilizational crisis” and calls the film’s popularity “profoundly depressing.”

Jason Whitlock sees right through Klee’s castigation, however.

“Are the critics hypocritically deflecting attention away from the serious problem of child exploitation – an issue at the root of our compromised politicians and controlled celebrities?” he asks.

“No question.”

“The concealment of the Epstein client list makes that abundantly clear,” he continues.

However, it gets far darker than that.

These critics, according to Whitlock, aren’t just deflecting people’s attention away from the heinous crime of human trafficking; they are also tearing down the film because it reflects biblical principles – the antithesis of woke culture.

“The movie promotes an understanding of how God wants man to behave in the earthly realm,” Whitlock says. “The highest form of humanity is sacrifice in accordance with the will of God – that’s what ‘Sound of Freedom’ depicts.”

However, in our current woke society, “it’s now taboo to make movies or TV shows about men who heroically sacrifice, particularly heterosexual, evangelical white men,” he continues.

Such a narrative has been “demonized as a reflection of toxic masculinity and white supremacy.”

It’s no wonder that progressives can’t stand this movie. It shines light on crimes inextricably connected to elitists and promotes principles that vehemently oppose every aspect of the far left’s dogma.

However, the attack on “Sound of Freedom” is connected to other issues as well, including the dismantling of gender ideology. To hear Whitlock’s complete commentary, watch the full clip here.
