Analyst: Trump's goal for Middle East visit draws sharp contrast with Islamic terror in UK

Richard Manning, President of Americans for Limited Government joined Chris Salcedo on "The Chris Salcedo Show" today to talk about the Islamic State terrorist attack that killed 22 in Manchester and the effect President Donald Trump's visit to the Middle East might have on nations from that region which hold very different religious worldviews.

Manning said, "Abhorrent acts are becoming more and more common," and the common denominator is Islam gaining "a big foothold" in Western nations. He theorized this breeds people who have no compunction about making a bomb filled with nails designed to kill little girls at their first concert, since they believe it is their God-given duty.

He also stated that former President Barack Obama's way of handling the Middle East has been proven wrong. In Saudi Arabia, which, he noted sardonically, is "not a hotbed of civil rights," the reaction not only to President Trump but also to Melania and Ivanka Trump "sent a message to the people of Saudi Arabia that equality is achievable."

He believes it's possible to change attitudes by demonstrating better ways of interacting with one another. In Israel, the president and his family prayed at the Western Wall on the same day they met with the Saudis.

Manning hopes Trump's actions are "bringing these religions together in a common vision of peace."
