Woman robbed and assaulted 61-year-old she met on 'sugar daddy' site after he refused to give her money, Texas police say

A 26-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly robbed and assaulted a 61-year-old man she had met on a "sugar-daddy-type site" and demanded money from him, according to Texas police.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said that Kaley Renae Medina went on an expensive dinner date on Nov. 11 with a man that she met on the "Seeking Arrangement" website.

“My understanding of this site, looking at the site itself, it is where beautiful people and wealthy people get together or words to that effect,” Salazar told reporters.

“What it appears to be, for a lack of a better term, a sugar-daddy-type site where people with money meet up with younger people that need money and make some sort of an arrangement to date or what have you," he explained. "Sometimes for financial compensation of some sort. In my world, we have another word for that.”

While that initial dinner concluded without incident, Salazar said that Medina showed up at the man's home nine days later on Monday at 2:30 a.m. demanding that he give her $2,000 over a shared bottle of wine.

When the man said he didn't have that kind of money on hand, she allegedly began destroying his property and attacked him. She allegedly destroyed his flatscreen television, a custom painting, and an entertainment center. Salazar said Medina ran off with the man's passport, an iPhone, his identification, a surveillance camera, and a Dyson hair dryer.

She also allegedly poured laundry detergent on the man's head. Salazar said the detergent caused serious burns to the man's eyes. The man was able to crawl out of his residence and yell for help from his neighbors.

Medina fled from the man's home, but deputies tracked her down and arrested her.

Salazar went on to warn the public about the danger from using "sugar-daddy-type sites" to look for romance.

“The person on the other end of that may be a young, attractive person who appeals to that, but this person was clearly dangerous," he concluded. "This gentleman did end up with chemical burns to his eyes, and he could’ve ended up dead because of this."

Medina was booked into the Bexar County Jail on a $20,000 bond and charged with second-degree felony robbery.
