'Actual fascism'

Eric McCormack and Debra Messing, star actors on the hit sitcom "Will and Grace," ignited backlash after advocating for the outing and blacklisting of Beverly Hills Trump supporters.

The actors were responding to news that Trump would appear at a Beverly Hills fundraising event in September. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Sept. 17 event is being hosted by top Republican National Committee leadership. Tickets for the event are selling for as much as $100,000.

"Hey, @THR, kindly report on everyone attending this event, so the rest of us can be clear about who we don't wanna work with. Thx," McCormack tweeted.

"Please print a list of all attendees please. The public has a right to know," Messing said.

What was the reaction?

In response, both McCormack and Messing fielded a wave of backlash.
