Video: Texas woman ends up in Mexico while trying to get to Home Depot to buy zip ties

A Texas woman recently went viral on TikTok after apparently ending up at the border of Mexico while trying to find the nearest Home Depot.

The Daily Dot reported that Trinity Jackson recently posted a video to her TikTok account about how she went to El Paso for a couple of weeks to spend time with her mother. She said she wanted to get out of Houston for a while, which is where Jackson reportedly lives.

Throughout the video, Jackson goes into detail about how she dropped her mother off at the airport following their visit. Jackson's mother reminded her that she needed to pick up zip ties, which could be found at the closest Home Depot.

Though the nearest Home Depot was apparently just 11 miles away, Jackson found herself on the cusp of entering another country. With her dog in the back seat and her music turned up, she said she noticed a sign that read "Port of Juarez," which is a land port that connects El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, according to Blavity.

She went on to say that "at this point, I'm already way too close to the sign to put two and two together, and I realize I am now exiting America and heading to Mexico," Jackson says in the TikTok video.

While she attempted to find a place to turn around and get back into the U.S., the road continued farther into the foreign country.

Jackson continued driving and eventually made it to Border Patrol. Even though she asked for help from two agents at the border, the language barrier was apparently tough to navigate. She explained that she was forced to use Google Translate to effectively communicate with the agents.

"I said I need to understand how I can get back into my country," she said. "I didn't mean to do this; this is an accident; this is a missed exit to the extreme."

Jackson apparently did not have the proper vehicle registration, but the agents decided to help her when they noticed she was nervous and frustrated by the situation. She provided her license, passport, and other legal documents to prove her identity.

The Daily Dot reported that Jackson's vehicle was circled by security dogs and that agents used mirrors to check beneath the vehicle. There was also surveillance video fixed on Jackson.

"Whole time in my head, one thing's for sure, two things for sure, this is never happening again," Jackson said. "This is a mistake you make once. Once."

According to the video, Jackson never did make it to Home Depot to pick up zip ties, as her mother suggested. Instead, she said she planned to go home, crochet, drink some wine, and "go to bed in America."
