UT Southwestern teaching med students that 'gender is independent' of chromosomes and is a 'societal construct'

Medical students at the University of Texas Southwestern have been taught that gender is a social construct and is independent of physical structure, according to the New York Post.

Documents obtained by Fox News show that medical students from the university have been subjected to radical gender ideology as part of their studies.

According to the university's "Human Structure" curriculum, educators “explicitly acknowledge the differentiation between the terms sex and gender.”

“The latter is a psychological, social, and cultural construct, including self-identification. Gender is independent of physical structure, chromosomes, or genes,” the curriculum read.

While in the school's "Sex and Gender" curriculum, students have been taught that sexual organs are binary, this did not limit educators from straying from medical norms. Anatomical sex was defined as chromosomes, genes, and products being "the most frequent anatomical variants traditionally termed male and female.”

Furthermore, the course stated that the school is "aware that there are anatomical variants that do not correspond to either of these so-called ‘typical male’ or ‘typical female’ anatomical variants of sex.”

The obtained records stemmed from a Freedom of Information Act Request from an organization called Do No Harm. The group describes itself as "physicians, healthcare professionals, medical students, patients, and policymakers" who want to protect the health care industry from "radical, divisive, and discriminatory ideology."

Additional materials from the curriculum include a video on the "Human Structure Development of the Urogenital System," which purports to describe the "typical male" and "typical female" sex organs as the two "extreme manifestations of the sex spectrum."

Gender and transgender topics have been at the forefront of the political sphere lately, including a recently passed Washington state bill that has sparked controversy over parental rights.

The bill allows both licensed and unlicensed persons or organizations to give shelter to children who are "away from a lawfully prescribed residence or home without parental permission" and seeking "gender-affirming treatment and reproductive health care services."

As well, after Bud Light enlisted transgender performer Dylan Mulvaney as a spokesperson, a recent poll said that 54% of respondents supported a boycott of the product. Moreover, 40% said that the transgender promotion would make them less likely to buy Bud Light.

At the same time, 33% of those ages 18-39 said they were more likely to drink the beer because of the promotion.
