'She can't be from this planet': Female driver who allegedly dragged man, overturned SUV in bizarre frenzy faces multiple charges

A female SUV driver who allegedly dragged a man and smashed another car while speeding between pumps at a Chicago-area gas station Sunday afternoon — before overturning her SUV moments later — is facing multiple charges.

What are the details?

Police said Kendra Nance of Chicago faces charges that include felony criminal damage to property, aggravated assault, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident, WLS-TV reported, adding that she was due in court Tuesday morning.

What's the background?

Police in Forest Park, Illinois — a village about 20 minutes west of downtown Chicago — told TheBlaze the action unfolded around 3:10 p.m. Sunday and involved a "domestic" situation. It all went down at the Thornton's gas station and convenience store on the corner of Jackson Boulevard and Harlem Avenue.

Cellphone video shows a dispute bubbling over at the gas station and the SUV driver accelerating between two gas pumps, smashing into another vehicle, and dragging a man across the gas station lanes. The SUV driver then speeds from the gas station and into the street before overturning her SUV.

One of the women in the earlier dispute with the SUV driver was heard yelling, "You dumb-ass bitch!" over and over at the sight of the wreck.

Amazingly, the SUV driver appeared to exit her overturned vehicle rather quickly and apparently unscathed — albeit minus one shoe — and answered all the derision with a "Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha!" cackle as she walked toward her adversaries.

'She can't be from this planet'

Police told WLS the incident began with an argument between Nance and her boyfriend.

Jeremy Martin told the station he was on the scene at the time "for gas and slushees" and then began recording video as he saw two women arguing with Nance.

"They started arguing because she heard somebody else laughing at her," Aliyah Davis, another witness, added to WLS.

Martin noted to the station that "they were throwing bottles at her, at the man and the woman and the car. She just got in the car and said, basically, 'I'll run you all over.' She thought she was playing."

Police told WLS that Nance purposely crashed her SUV at the gas station.

Security video shows Nance hitting another vehicle past the Jackson-Harlem intersection and her SUV overturning. The station said no one was seriously injured.

Which was a surprise to Martin, who told WLS, "I ran to the car to see what's going on. I'm thinking she was hurt. Man, she can't be from this planet. She got dead out the car, 'Ha ha ha!'"
