Teenager senselessly executed stranger sleeping on Seattle bus, police say

Public transit users are terrified after police said that a teenager senselessly executed a stranger who was sleeping on a city bus in Seattle, Washington.

The harrowing incident unfolded on Oct. 3 when police said that security video showed 17-year-old Miguel Rivera Dominguez boarding a Metro bus wearing a full ski mask.

After 12 minutes of sitting near the back of the bus, Dominguez allegedly used a handgun to shoot a sleeping passenger seven times without any provocation.

Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Marcel Wagner.

“The sudden and abrupt gunfire appears to take other passengers by surprise, including, it appears, Dominguez’s own acquaintance," wrote a detective in the charging papers, "who reacts with shock and covers his head as Dominguez continues to fire his gun repeatedly at Wagner from just a few feet away."

Dominguez demanded to be let off the bus and fired two shots into the rear door before the driver opened it. He and his companion ran away.

The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office said that Dominguez was still at large on Thursday morning and that he should be considered "armed and extremely dangerous."

Police said they were aided in their investigation by security video at the White Center Boys & Girls Club that showed Dominguez and a 15-year-old arrive. Dominguez then allegedly took off his ski mask and changed his clothing in the restroom.

Investigators said that Dominguez did not have any interaction with the victim before killing him and that they were "perfect strangers."

He has been charged with premeditated first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm. Prosecutors are requesting a bail of $3 million if he is captured.
