'This race is far from over': Haley congratulates Trump on New Hampshire victory but doesn't plan to drop out

Nikki Haley is down, but apparently, she's not getting out.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis dropped out of the GOP presidential nominating contest and endorsed Trump on Sunday after placing second in the Iowa caucuses last week. But former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who came in third in Iowa, stayed in the race and went on to lose the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary to former President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

Haley had been backed ahead of the contest by Granite State Gov. Chris Sununu. GOP Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, who Haley appointed to the Senate more than a decade ago while serving as governor, had recently endorsed Trump.

In a speech on Tuesday, after losing to Trump, Haley congratulated the former president on his win in New Hampshire but indicated that she plans to remain in the race.

"Now you've all heard the chatter among the political class. They're falling all over themselves saying this race is over," Haley said. "This race is far from over. There are dozens of states left to go."

"I’ve got bad news for the political establishment: I'm not going anywhere…except to my sweet South Carolina. We're not going to let them coronate Donald Trump when 48 states haven't voted," a post on Haley's X account declared, adding the hashtag "#BringIt."

"A very bad night for Nikki 'Birdbrain' Haley, but not as bad as last week, in Iowa, where she came in a DISTANT THIRD," Trump declared in a post on Truth Social.
