'The best feeling': former Delta Force operator describes shooting terrorists — 'Like winning a football game'

A retired Delta Force operator described his time performing operations that involved killing terrorists as an "indescribable feeling," adding that it's "like winning a football game."

Retired serviceman Dave Nielsen spoke to David Hookstead on OutKick's "American Joyride" show and revealed his thoughts about the time he spent performing his operational duties.

"I did hundreds and hundreds of hits, I have them all recorded, killed many people and will never regret that," Nielsen said in a clip posted to Twitter.

"It's the best feeling, the most indescribable feeling to do your job, what you trained to do; go in there, crush them ... it's like winning a football game, but it's indescribable to do your job," he continued.

"You come in, and they grab a kid and you just poke a hole in their head," Nielsen added.

"Retired Delta Force operator Dave Nielsen doesn't regret a single person he killed and says there's no better feeling in the world than pulling the trigger on a terrorist," Outkick's host wrote on Twitter. "God bless the fact men like him exist. The world would be a lot less safe without him and his teammates," he added.

Hookstead and Nielsen also discussed the idea of having to kill in battle operations and the difficult decisions that are made surrounding the death of a fellow soldier.

"I like to ask the question with Osama bin Laden, they just shot him, you know? Nobody disagrees with that," Nielsen told Hookstead.

"Where's the line for just going in to kill somebody? It's tough freaking business," Nielsen continued. "Somebody said 'you know anybody can kill a caveman,' well how many cavemen have you killed, sir? Because it's tough, and it's not natural."

Nielsen served in the U.S. Army for 16 years, with the majority of that time spent in Special Operations, according to StrikeSource.com. The website says Nielsen deployed numerous times with the 75th Ranger Regiment before being selected to serve in the Army’s Special Missions Unit. He also spent time as a sniper team member and breacher.
