Man allegedly tries kidnapping 1-year-old from stroller right in front of Mom. But she's having none of it.

The mother fought back and struggled with suspect, police said

A 24-year-old New York mother was out for a walk in Hempstead, Long Island, with her 1-year-old son Tuesday evening when a man jumped in front of the stroller and grabbed the boy, police told WABC-TV.

But there was no way Mom would let the guy get away without a fight — and that's exactly how it went down, cops said.

The mother struggled with the man, and he soon threw the child to the pavement on Fulton Avenue and ran away, police told the station.

The boy suffered scrapes to his face and a large bruise on his forehead, WABC reported, adding that he was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 30s with a thin build who was wearing a black Nike baseball cap with white lettering along with a brown winter jacket, the station reported. Those with information can anonymously call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, WABC said.
