Trump critic Liz Cheney has written a book titled 'OATH AND HONOR: A Memoir and a Warning'

Former U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) has written a book titled "OATH AND HONOR: A Memoir and a Warning" that is slated for release later this year.

"In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol. Liz Cheney, one of the few Republican officials to take a stand against these efforts, witnessed the attack first-hand, and then helped lead the Congressional Select Committee investigation into how it happened," a book description reads. "In Oath and Honor, she tells the story of this perilous moment in our history, those who helped Trump spread the stolen election lie, those whose actions preserved our constitutional framework, and the risks we still face."

Cheney, who has been an outspoken Trump critic, left office at the end of her term in early January. She lost her 2022 GOP primary to Trump-backed challenger Harriet Hageman.

Cheney was one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach then-President Donald Trump in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Later that year, she was ousted from her post as House Republican Conference chair and became one of the two GOP lawmakers to serve on the House Select Committee that was supposed to investigate the Jan. 6 episode.

Cheney endorsed several Democrats during the 2022 election cycle.

"Our nation is the greatest nation on earth, but it endures only because those in positions of authority honor their oaths to our Constitution. No man who violated his oath, who did what Donald Trump did, can ever be trusted with the presidency again," Cheney tweeted on Tuesday.
