Kathy Griffin calls out 'scary,' misogynistic female film execs with leftist attitudes: Act like a woman

Comedian Kathy Griffin hit out at those women who she said are "scary" female entertainment and film executives for perpetuating what she described as "lethal casual misogyny."

What are the details?

In a recent discussion with Interview magazine, Griffin spoke up about her gripes with female entertainment executives and misogynists at large.

Griffin, 61, told the outlet that that many female Hollywood executives were guilty of promoting casual misogyny — an attitude that she said "tends to come from the left."

She added that such misogyny is extremely dangerous and detrimental to female entertainers, and noted that such female executives believe their road to success is to "act like the dude."

"There are women who, to be super powerful, have to act like the dude," she said. "I don't know Jennifer Salke [the head of Amazon Studios] but what I hear about her is kind of scary. I don't know any executives that are women that don't have maybe a little casual misogyny. They can be lethal because sometimes they'll just cut you off and then quietly tell all the other guys that you're a b****."

Griffin added, however, that she felt that embattled news network CNN might fare better overall with a woman at the helm.

“I’m hopeful that the network will get better, because there’s a real bro culture over there," she insisted. "And when I say bro culture, as a woman, I’ve got to include men of color, gay men, white men."

She continued, "If they get away from the kind of leadership that Jeff Zucker used over there, then they’re only going to get better. If they just put a woman at the helm — and not a corporate woman that’s been doing what Jeff wants — which has never happened, I think that’s going to change stuff pretty quickly.”
