MSNBC's Joy Reid says that the GOP wants America to be 'a white nationalist autocracy'

Leftist MSNBC host Joy Reid claimed during her show on Wednesday that the Republican Party desires for America to be "a white nationalist autocracy."

"They want a white nationalist autocracy in the United States," and think "white Christians ... need to rule the United States without elections," Reid claimed.

Last year when responding to a tweet that mentioned the Taliban, the MSNBC host tweeted that the U.S. "has our own far religious right dreaming of a theocracy that would impose a particular brand of Christianity, drive women from the workforce and solely into childbirth, and control all politics."

She also declared last year that the GOP is "anti-democracy, anti-voting, anti-history, anti-facts," and she referred to the GOP as "the pro-death party."

Reid has also claimed that people on the right of the political spectrum want the ability to be publicly racist without any repercussions.

"I’ll say it again: people on the right would trade all the tax cuts for the ability to openly say the n-word like in 'the good old days.' To them, not being able to be openly racist and discriminatory without consequence is oppression. Trump is the avatar for this 'freedom,'" she tweeted last year.
