Karine Jean-Pierre melts down when reporter demands to know if cocaine found at White House belonged to Hunter Biden

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre lost her cool when a reporter demanded to know if the cocaine found at the White House belonged to the president's troubled son.

Jean-Pierre was pressed by Caitlin Doornbos of the New York Post during a media briefing Friday to explain why the White House had not given a straight answer to the awkward question.

"Sorry to bring up cocaine again," said Doornbos. "I'm just asking again, can you say once and for all whether or the not the cocaine belonged to the Biden family?"

Jean-Pierre explained that a previous question had been asked with reference to former President Donald Trump, which is why a White House official had refused to answer based on the provisions of the Hatch Act.

"So we're not avoiding the question, that is not true, we've answered this question, litigated this question for the last two days, exhaustively," she claimed.

"There has been some irresponsible reporting about the family, and so I gotta call that out here. And I have been very clear," she added.

"I was clear two days ago, when talking about this over and over again as I was being asked the question, as you know, when media outlets reported this, the Biden family was not here. They were not here. They were at Camp David. They were not here Friday. They were not here Saturday. They were not here Sunday, they were not even here Monday. They came back on Tuesday," Jean-Pierre said emphatically.

"So to ask that question is actually incredibly irresponsible and, I'll just leave it there," she concluded.

Some on social media pointed out that Jean-Pierre had embellished the truth because Hunter Biden had actually been seen at the White House on Friday.

The bag of white powder was found in a secure area of the White House on Sunday evening during a routine search and led to a brief evacuation. It was later tested and found to be cocaine, which prompted speculation and ridicule about who might have left it there and why the Secret Service is having such a difficult time identifying the culprit.

Hunter Biden has been struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, and his habits became a spectacle when he neglected to pick up a laptop he had dropped off at a computer repair shop and his private information became public.

More recently, the president's son settled a child support dispute with a former stripper who gave birth to his child. As part of the settlement, the mother has agreed to stop requesting to have the child adopt the Biden surname.
