Jamie Foxx spotted for first time since hospitalization, appears on massive boat in Chicago

Actor and singer Jamie Foxx was seen publicly for the first time since being hospitalized for what was only known as a "medical complication." Foxx was spotted atop a boat waving to fans in Chicago.

In video posted by TMZ, Foxx was recorded for a few short seconds as a boat went by, smiling and waving to onlookers as he traveled down the Chicago River.

The 55-year-old wore a black outfit with sunglasses after fans and media members worldwide speculated on his medical condition dating back to April 2023, when his family released a statement that said Foxx "experienced a medical complication."

"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery," the statement added. "We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family."

A source had told TMZ that the actor's unspecified condition was "serious enough" that it meant that his family need to travel to be by his side at the time, according to Page Six.

A few weeks later Foxx's daughter, Corinne, provided an update about her father after increased speculation and online rumors.

In an Instagram story, she wrote, "Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support!"

She added, "We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!"

Foxx also made his own Instagram post in May 2023, with the text "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed."

Before his hospitalization, Foxx was filming a Netflix movie called "Back in Action" with Cameron Diaz. Diaz reportedly had resorted to filming other scenes with Foxx's body double while he was out of commission.

It is unknown whether the movie will still be released as planned, as no updates have been given by the studio despite reports that the film had faced production issues even before Foxx's departure.

The co-stars reportedly got into “heated arguments” while on set, in addition to alleged “major setbacks in post-production” for the film.

Foxx has yet to publicly address the details of his health complications.
