E. Jean Carroll brags how she will spend Trump's money. Megyn Kelly believes the admission helps Trump win 2024.

E. Jean Carroll boasted on Monday that she will use "Trump's money" to purchase a penthouse for MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.

Last week, a jury ordered Donald Trump to pay Carroll $83.3 million for allegedly defaming her over her accusations that he sexually assaulted her nearly three decades ago. Trump denies any wrongdoing.

But on Monday, Maddow asked Carroll if she plans to "help shore up women's rights" with the eye-popping award that Trump plans to appeal.

Flanked by her two lawyers — Roberta Kaplan and Shawn Crowley — Carroll was giddy with excitement and claimed she was fighting for "all women." She then told Maddow that she plans to spend "Trump's money" on lavish waste.

Carroll explained:

Yes, Rachel! Yes! I have such, such great ideas for all the good I’m gonna do with this money. First thing, Rachel, you and I are going to go shopping. We’re going to get completely new wardrobes, new shoes, a motorcycle for Crowley, a new fishing rod for Robbie. Rachel, what do you want? Penthouse? It’s yours, Rachel! Penthouse and, uh, France? You want France? You wanna go fishing in France? No? Oh, all right.

The statement left Carroll's lawyers visible nervous.

"That's a joke," Crowley blurted out through awkward laughter.

Carroll's gloating comes off in bad taste, especially considering she boasted about lavish spending despite Maddow asking her if she plans to use the money to help "women's rights." But it could be worse than that, according to Megyn Kelly.

"This is the kind of clip that could win Trump the election," Kelly reacted.

Earlier in the day, Carroll boasted that she plans to spend the money on "something Donald Trump hates." That's her right if the jury decision withstands appeal.

But Kelly is also correct. Boasting about spending a questionable jury award on lavish items in pure retribution drives the perception that the power structures that hold together American society are actively targeting Trump, and that perception is one reason why millions of voters (to the amazement of those power structures) support Trump.
