DNC shares, then later deletes, Presidents' Day post featuring Biden, Obama, and Clinton, but not Carter

The Democratic National Committee apparently shared, but then deleted, a Presidents' Day post that featured current President Joe Biden as well as former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. But former President Jimmy Carter, the only other Democratic president still living, was conspicuously absent from the post.

"In celebrating living Democrat presidents, the Democrat Party forgot Jimmy Carter," Jason Rantz tweeted. He later shared a screenshot of the post.

A statement last year announced that "after a series of short hospital stays, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter today decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention."

Carter, who served as president from early 1977 until early 1981, turned 99 in October. His wife of 77 years passed away in November, according to the Associated Press.

"One year after entering hospice care, President Carter continues to be at home with his family," the Carter family said in a recent statement, according to reports. "The Carter Family is grateful for the many expressions of love they have received and the continued respect for their privacy during this time. The family is pleased that his decision last year to enter hospice care has sparked so many family discussions across the country on an important subject."

The only other former presidents still living are Republicans Donald Trump and George W. Bush.

Biden, who is already the oldest president in U.S. history, would be 86 by the end of a second term if re-elected in 2024.
