Cop allegedly solicited sex from undercover cops posing as underage girl online

An Arkansas police officer is one of three suspects nabbed in a recent sting operation intended to identify potential child sex traffickers.

Last week, police officers in Texarkana, Texas, began the two-day child sex-trafficking sting operation. They went to "a website known to offer prostitution services" and posted a fake ad there, a police statement said. As responses to the ad came in, officers then replied back pretending to be an underage girl offering sexual services.

During their correspondence, the undercover officers made sure to tell each of the suspects that the "girl" they had expressed interest in meeting was underage. Even after receiving that information, at least three of them "still wanted to come meet up with her and offered to pay her for sex," the police statement said.

When the three suspects arrived at the prearranged location, they were met by police officers instead of a young girl.

The three men arrested in connection with the sting are: 37-year-old James Willis, 33-year-old Adarius Wills, and 31-year-old Telvin Wilson. Of the three, Wilson has drawn the most attention because, at the time of his arrest, he was a member of the Texarkana Police Department in Arkansas, just across the state border from Texarkana, Texas.

Wilson, a father of two, joined the force in 2016 and was even featured in a Facebook post from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department earlier this year to celebrate Black History Month. In the Facebook post, Wilson explained that he became involved in law enforcement to "be the one that our young people can come and talk to." He claimed to have an ability "to communicate with the public and be comfortable while doing so." He was fired soon after his arrest.

Like the other two suspects, Wilson was booked into the Bi-State Jail and charged with online solicitation of a minor (sexual conduct.) His bond was set at $100,000.

In addition to online solicitation of a minor, Adarius Wills was charged with delivery of marijuana. His bond has been set at $85,000.

Of the three arrested in the sting, James Willis — not to be confused with Adarius Wills — faces the most serious list of charges. Besides online solicitation of a minor, Willis has also been charged with possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, evading arrest, and abandoning/endangering a child with intent to return. His bond has not yet been set.

In a statement, the police department in Texarkana, Arkansas, confirmed that Officer Wilson had been fired and expressed thanks to various law enforcement agencies for their work in arresting the alleged predators, the Daily Mail reported.
