'Captain America' actor says he will 'cut ties' with Tom Brady if he's really a Trump supporter

Another example of that famous liberal "tolerance"

Hollywood actor Chris Evans, best known for portraying Captain America, hates President Donald Trump so much that he said he would "cut ties" with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady if he really supported the president.

Evans made the comments in an interview published Wednesday in the Hollywood Reporter. He was responding to a question about whether he would be willing to portray the iconic NFL superstar in a biopic.

"I don't know," Evans responded.

"I really hope he's not a Trump supporter," he explained. "I'm just hoping he's one of those guys that maybe supported him and now regrets it. Maybe he thought it was going to be different — and even that bothers me — but maybe there's a chance now he just thinks Trump's an absolute dumb shit, which he is."

Brady had been rumored to be a Trump supporter since someone spotted a MAGA hat in the player's locker.

"If he doesn't, if he's still on that Trump train, I might have to cut ties," Evans concluded. "It's really tough."

Brady has not confirmed or denied rumors that he supports the president's policies, and has only commented that he's known Trump for many years and that they are friendly.

"Why is that such a big deal? I don't understand that?" he said in an interview in 2017.

Evans is an outspoken liberal and has used his twitter account to attack the president as well as advocate for liberal causes. He says that he is "retiring" from the role of Captain America in order to pursue other roles.

"The Avengers: Endgame," with Evans' last portrayal of Captain America, opens in theaters on April 26.
