Border officials torch Biden admin for promoting ‘Chestfeeding Awareness Month’ amid worsening migrant crisis

Current and former Border Patrol officials torched the Biden administration for prioritizing the celebration of “Chestfeeding Awareness Month” amid a severely worsening migrant crisis, the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.

According to the outlet, Customs and Border Protection sent an agency-wide email on Tuesday promoting “National Breast/Chestfeeding Awareness Month.” The email reaffirmed the CBP’s commitment to providing all workers “who breast/chestfeed” with “lactation support.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website provides “health equity considerations” regarding transgender individuals who “chestfeed.” Under the page’s “Remember that” section, the CDC states, “Transgender and nonbinary-gendered individuals may give birth and breastfeed or feed at the chest (chestfeed).”

“An individual does not need to have given birth to breastfeed or chestfeed,” the CDC continues. “Some families may have other preferred terminology for how they feed their babies, such as nursing, chestfeeding, or bodyfeeding.”

Some doctors have criticized the CDC for ignoring the potential risks of so-called chestfeeding.

In interviews with the DCNF, several former and current Border Patrol officials expressed frustration over the recent email, claiming that the Biden administration does not have its priorities in order.

Gil Maza, a former CBP agent who retired after 27 years with the agency, told the outlet that the Biden administration needs to focus more on the ongoing border crisis.

“Instead of focusing on what really matters, you have literally an all-time record for illegal immigration, you have all-time record releases, you have an all-time record for gotaways, you got all-time record rescues and all-time record deaths, and their biggest concern is this. I don’t even know any of my coworkers who would ask for any kind of special chestfeeding considerations,” Maza stated.

A current CBP official, who asked to remain anonymous, told the DCNF, “I find it disgusting and disrespectful to our women in the workforce that they would post something like that. Especially mothers that somehow find the time to nurse and raise their children while protecting our country.”

“Don’t even know what to say to be honest. Nothing is surprising any more,” the CBP official continued. “Biden is by far the worst president we’ve had in recent history; he’s purposefully destroying the country because he’s beholden to foreign powers and not the American people.”

Since October, CBP has reported more than 1.9 million encounters at the southern border. Border encounters for fiscal year 2023 are on pace to exceed the previous year’s 2.3 million.

CBP did not respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.
