'Come chill': Man robs girl at gunpoint, forces her to add him on Facebook — then asks her out

A 21-year-old woman was robbed of approximately $100 at gunpoint by a man who then forced her to add him as a friend on Facebook, eventually asking the girl out over social media.

Amber Beraun got home around 4 a.m. after delivering pizzas in Indianapolis and went inside her home to feed her pets. She came back outside to check her mailbox when a man appeared and asked for help. The man asked if Beraun lived at the residence, the Washington Post reported, to which she said yes, but also lied about living there with her boyfriend.

That's when the man, Damien Boyce, allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at Beraun's chest. Boyce also allegedly said he planned on breaking into her home, but since she came outside he changed his tune to wanting to take her car. Beraun got him to agree to $100 in tips she had just made, and she gave him the money.

Then, Beraun claimed that while still holding her at gunpoint, Boyce made her add him to her Facebook. She reportedly typed his name into the Facebook app on her phone, and then Boyce allegedly directed her to the correct profile and selected "Add Friend."

The alleged armed robber wanted to be sure Beraun was really spoken for, however, and reportedly asked, “Do you really have a boyfriend?”

“Yes,” she responded.

“Does he treat you right?” she recalled the man asked. The girl said she was stunned but eventually told him "yes."

After fleeing on his bicycle, the accused reportedly later apologized on social media and told Beraun that she was too pretty to rob.

“Look just know imma pay you back,” he allegedly wrote. Beraun reportedly said, “I believe you man. I can tell you’re sweet, times just get rough I know that.”

Boyce then allegedly invited her over and said "come chill with me," according to screenshots seen by the Washington Post.

“I do have a man,” Beraun replied. “You know I can’t do that lol. I wish you the best tho."

Although she feared retaliation if she called police since the suspect knew where she lived, the young woman's boyfriend convinced her to report the incident approximately 16 hours after it occurred.

After about six weeks of investigating, police charged the 31-year-old man with felony armed robbery and a misdemeanor for illegally carrying a handgun. The man faces more than 17 years in prison if convicted on both charges.
