Actress Kate Hudson describes raising a child with a 'genderless' approach

Ironically, Hudson already had a "gender reveal" party

Hollywood actress Kate Hudson said that she is raising her third child with a "genderless" approach, but admitted that the infant is already expressing feminine "energy."

Hudson said that she was treating her recently-born daughter Rani differently than she did her two boys in an interview with America Online.

John Gibson asked the 39 year-old if she received any tips from her celebrity mother, Goldie Hawn, about raising a daughter.

"No, because I was a daughter! I lived it!" Hudson responded.

"But does having a baby girl make you do anything differently or change your approach at all?" he added.

"It doesn't really change my approach, but there's definitely a difference," Hudson responded. "I think you just raise your kids individually regardless - like a genderless [approach]."

Hudson has two boys, but she says that she has changed her parenting style with her new daughter.

"We still don't know what she's going to identify as," Hudson added, using the terminology for those that believe a person can choose their gender later in life.

"I will say that, right now, she is incredibly feminine in her energy, her sounds and her way," she admitted.

"It's very different from the boys, and it's really fun to actually want to buy kids' clothes. With the boys it was just like onesies," Hudson explained, "actually, I did pretty good with the boys."

"But with her it's a whole other ball game," Hudson said. "There's some stuff that I'm like, 'I can't do that to her, because it's so over-the-top.'"

Ironically, Hudson had a "gender reveal" party in April 2018 when she announced that she was pregnant with Rani.
