Actress and former Fox News contributor Stacey Dash charged with domestic battery after she called 911

Dash says she was acting in self-defense after her husband choked her

"Clueless" star and former Fox News commentator Stacey Dash was arrested for domestic battery Sunday night, but says she was acting in self-defense and called 911 after her husband tried to choke her.

What are the details?

The Daily Mail reported that Dash called 911 to her home, alleging that her husband, attorney Jeffrey Marty, placed her in a chokehold. But Dash was the one put in handcuffs and charged after police reported seeing "red scratch marks" on Marty's upper arm. She is also accused of pushing her husband.

Dash was taken into custody and held on $500 bail.

According to TMZ, a source close to Dash claimed the actress was defending herself against Marty, and "was arrested because she didn't have any marks on her but her husband did."

In the 911 call, Dash can be heard saying a verbal disagreement in the home escalated and involved Marty's 15-year-old daughter. The actress told the dispatcher, "We were all arguing. I asked his daughter to get out of my face, 'cause she was in my face. He put me into a chokehold."

Marty took to Twitter following his wife's arrest, writing, "Anyone who would falsely use law enforcement to destroy another person's life deserves exactly what they get. Psalm 57:6."

Anything else?

The Los Angeles Times reported that Marty and Dash were married in April 2018, "shortly after the conservative actress withdrew from the race for California's 44th congressional district." This is Dash's fourth marriage.
