Actor Dax Shepard says he won't 'protect' his 6- and 8-year-old daughters' virginity: 'If my daughters are horny and want to have sex'

Actor Dax Shepard says that he will not protect his young daughters' virtue when it comes to having sex — and has even had sexual discussions with his two daughters, who are just 6 and 8 years old.

What are the details?

During the latest episode of "Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard," the 46-year-old actor — who is married to actress Kristen Bell, with whom he shares 6-year-old Delta and 8-year-old Lincoln — told guest Gwyneth Paltrow that he will be carefree about his daughters' sexuality when it comes time for them to start dating.

"Of course, the most generic thing every guy says to me is, 'Oh, you better have a gun, there's gonna be guys coming around,'" Shepard told Paltrow. "This notion I have to protect my daughters' virginity with great prejudice is necessary."

"My response is, do not want my daughters to have sex so they can get approval from somebody, but if my daughters are horny and want to have sex — that was my favorite activity, remains my favorite activity; I'd be lying if I said I was in any way anti-that activity," he admitted. "I'm anti-getting esteem from that activity, but that's it."

He added that he and his wife developed what he said is an "ingenious" way of teaching their young daughters about consent.

“I'll tell you one thing that my wife does that's ingenious," Shepard explained. “When she describes sex to our children, she says, 'And then the woman takes the man's penis and puts it in her vagina.' So right away it's like, you're in charge of this, you will decide to put this in your vagina, not the man puts his penis in your vagina."

He added, "I was like, that's a nice little adjustment we're gonna make."
