Ocasio-Cortez caught in another stunning act of hypocrisy - here's what she did

Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez was caught committing a pretty stunning act of hypocrisy over her campaign's use of a service that she said was causing suicides.

Here's what happened

Ocasio-Cortez, the socialist democrat darling of the left, accused the ride-sharing app Uber of causing suicides among taxi cab drivers.

"NYC's fourth driver suicide," she tweeted in March, linking to an article. "Yellow cab drivers are in financial ruin due to the unregulated expansion of Uber. What was a living wage job now pays under minimum."

Uber was said to be tied to a pattern of suicide among taxi cab drivers who couldn't compete with the industry-disrupting application.

But whatever the truth of that claim may be, it would appear rather hypocritical to accuse Uber of causing cab driver suicides, then unabashedly use that service numerous times.

And that's exactly what the Ocasio-Cortez campaign did.

According to FEC records, the campaign used the suicide-inducing ride-sharing application 160 times in just a three month period, to the tune of $4,000.

The Ocasio-Cortez campaign didn't responds to requests for a comment about the story from Fox News.

Ocasio-Cortez has been slammed by many on the right for various bizarre comments she's made as a neophyte politician. In one celebrated event, she said that she was going to help turn a congressional district "red" - which is understood by convention to be the color representing Republicans, not Democrats.

Ocasio-Cortez was propelled into the spotlight when she defeated a powerful Democrat party boss in a primary for a New York seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. But even Democrats have bristled at the fawning coverage she's received by the mainstream media, and some establishment Democrats have publicly criticized the firebrand and her attempts to lurch the party to the far left.
