Canadian PM Trudeau nailed with sexual harassment allegations from his past

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is having to explain allegations of sexual harassment from nearly two decades ago that have resurfaced recently.

Here's how he responded

Trudeau is being accused of groping a female reporter when he was a 28-year-old teacher at a music festival. He is denying the allegations.

“I remember that day in Creston well,” Trudeau said Monday to reporters. “I had a good day that day."

"I don’t remember any negative interactions that day at all," he added.

“Inappropriately handling”

The allegations were made anonymously in an editorial published in the Creston Valley Advance a few days after the alleged altercation. Trudeau was accused of groping the woman and "inappropriately handling" the female reporter.

The editorial claimed the woman felt "blatantly disrespected" by the interaction and that Trudeau apologized at the time.

“I’m sorry,” Trudeau allegedly said at the time. “If I had known you were reporting for a national paper, I never would have been so forward.”

The editor of the paper at the time said he fully backed the allegations of the reporter against Trudeau.

“I certainly believe that it happened," he said, "this reporter was of a high character in my opinion and was professional in the way she conducted herself, and there’s no question in my mind that what was alluded to, written about in that editorial, did happen.”

Here's video of Trudeau's comments:

Trudeau has made headline by hosting the G-8 economic meeting where President Trump was in attendance. Trump and his allies later lashed out at our neighbors to the North because of the prime minister's insistence on responding to the president's tariffs with their own increased tariffs.
