Watch: Actor Jon Voight praises Trump's first days in WH, compares Cabinet to George Washington's

Legendary actor Jon Voight believes President Donald Trump may have put together the best presidential Cabinet since President George Washington's original Cabinet in 1789.

Speaking with Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro over the weekend, Voight praised Trump and the hard work he's done since being elected, including the efforts by Trump and his senior team to fill thousands of essential government positions.

"Well I have to say that I'm very proud of the way Donald Trump has proceeded from the first moment of his victory in the election right to the present time," Voight said.

"I think he's done more, you know, he's worked harder, put in more, longer hours and accomplished more than any other president in my memory," the actor added, noting that he was born in 1938 and therefore has a long memory.

"I've never seen any energy like this," Voight said of Trump.

However, the Oscar-winning actor said he's most impressed with Trump's Cabinet.

"I'm very impressed with what he's accomplished, and I'm very impressed with the Cabinet he's put together," Voight told Pirro. "I've said it rivals the great Cabinets of our country's history, and maybe even the brilliant first Cabinet of our Founders."

"These guys are quite special," he added.

So far, only two of Trump's Cabinet nominees — Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly — have been confirmed through the Senate thanks in part to Senate Democrats dragging their feet and vowing to make the process as long as possible. Secretary of State-designate Rex Tillerson and CIA Director-designate Mike Pompeo are expected to be the next two Trump nominees to be confirmed.

Voight was an outspoken advocate for Trump throughout last year's campaign season and has continued his enthusiasm for Trump since the election. The actor was even tangled in a bit of controversy last October after he made a video plea urging Americans to support Trump.
