‘I Guess There Is a Statute of Limitation on Lies’: Watch Rubio Land Blow After Blow on Trump

"Well, I don't know anything about bankrupting four companies."

Republican presidential contender Marco Rubio went after 2016 rival Donald Trump at Thursday's GOP debate, slamming the real estate mogul for hiring illegal immigrants to work on construction jobs.

"If he builds the wall the way he built Trump Tower, he'll be using illegal immigrant labor to do it," Rubio said.

"Such a cute sound bite," Trump replied.

"It's not a sound bite. It's a fact," Rubio quipped back. "Again, go online and Google it. 'Donald Trump Polish workers.' You'll see. The second thing about the trade war is, I don't understand, your ties and the clothes you make is made in China. So you're going to be starting a trade war on your own ties and your own suits."

"You know why? Because they devalue their currency!" Trump said.

"Why don't you make them in America?" Rubio asked.

"You don't know a thing about business," Trump shot back.

"Well, make them in America!" Rubio rebutted.

Trump said that countries such as China are getting the better part of trade deals with the U.S. and that he could solve it.

"But you wouldn't know anything about that because you're a lousy businessman," he told Rubio.

"Well, I don't know anything about bankrupting four companies," the Florida senator shot back. "You bankrupted four companies. I don't know anything about starting a university that was a fake university! A fake university! There are people that borrowed 36,000 to attend Trump University and now they are suiting him. That's a fake school!"

Rubio continued to assault Trump's record, going as far as to say if the billionaire didn't inherit his father's wealth he'd merely be "selling watches in Manhattan."

Moments later, Rubio and Trump resumed their debate.

"I have to say, he lied this time! He lied," Trump said.

"You lied about the Polish workers!" Rubio quipped.

"Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah," Trump said. "38 years ago."

"Oh, he lied 38 years ago. I guess there is a statute of limitation on lies," Rubio replied to applause.
