Trump: Ted Cruz is 'Like a Little Bit Of a Maniac,' Doesn't Have 'Right Temperament' to be President

"That's the problem with Ted."

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz does not have the "right temperament" to be lead the U.S., according to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Trump's comments on his fellow presidential contender's ability to be be the next commander-in-chief came during a "Fox News Sunday" segment as Cruz creeps closer to the business mogul in the polls — and, according to a new poll, even surpasses him in Iowa.

"I don't think he's qualified to be president," Trump said. "I don't think he has the right temperament. I don't think he's got the right judgement. You look at the way he's dealt with the Senate where he goes in there, frankly, you know, like a little bit of a maniac. You're never going to get things done that way."

"You can't walk into the Senate and scream and call people liars and not be able to cajole and get along with people," Trump continued. "He'll never get anything done, and that's the problem with Ted."

Trump also addressed his opponent contending that he "questions" Trump's "judgement," attributing the comment as something Cruz said "behind [his] back."

A recent Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register Iowa poll shows Cruz 10 points ahead of Trump in the Hawkeye State. According to Real Clear Politics' aggregated polling data, Trump has a 13.1 point lead over Cruz as he's polling at 29.8 percent.
