Report: FBI Visits Tech Company That Handled Hillary Clinton's Email

The FBI is looking into a Colorado company that handled Hillary Clinton's email while she was the secretary of state, Denver's KCNC-TV reported.

The FBI, which is investigating whether any of emails sent or received on Clinton’s private server contained classified information, visited the Denver-based Platte River Networks last week.

Sources told the station that the FBI asked the company to preserve information related to emails involving Bill and Hillary Clinton.

The New York Times first reported Sunday that the FBI had visited the company's headquarters.

Platte River Networks could potentially have backup copies of Clinton emails that were deleted. The company did not immediately respond to a call from TheBlaze.

Edgar Maldonado, a computer information system professor at Metro State University, said the company’s involvement raises questions about security protocols.

“I would say it’s not the best choice,” Maldonado told KCNC.

The FBI didn’t respond to the station.

Inspectors general for the State Department and the intelligence community have referred their findings to the Justice Department for investigation. Clinton has denied sending or receiving classified information.
