In her first TV interview in 10 years, former White House intern Monica Lewinsky opens up about her infamous affair with former President Bill Clinton and her transformation into “the most humiliated woman in the world.”
“That was one of the worst days of my life,” Lewinsky said in an interview with National Geographic. “I was a virgin to humiliation of that level, until that day.”
NBC’s “Today” obtained clips from the interview set to air Sunday at 9 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel:
Following the release of a Starr report outlining allegations of a sex scandal in the White House, Lewinsky said she was devastated to have “my narrative ripped from me.” She said the report included “things that were turned over or things they delved out of my computer that I thought were deleted.”
“I mean it was just violation after violation,” she added.
Lewinsky also recalled being attacked personally and called “stupid, a slut, a bimbo, and ditzy.”
“To be in the vortex of this media maelstrom was quite alarming, and frightening, and confusing.” Lewinsky said. “I think a lot, too, had to do with the fact that I was a woman.”
