Gohmert Challenges Christian Leader, TV Secrets Revealed and 'Duck Dynasty' Drama: The Biggest Faith Stories of the Week

It’s time for our weekly news round-up. Didn’t have time to follow the news over the past few days? Don’t worry. Here are the biggest faith and culture stories of the week:

To begin, Live Action, a pro-life organization, released the first in a series of undercover videos attempting to expose Planned Parenthood for reportedly promoting porn and “kinky sex” to minors.

“I would start with the taste, and then the role-play and then work up to the hard, the harder things like hitting,” a Planned Parenthood staff member can be heard telling an undercover "teen" investigator on tape.

And America’s deep divide over religious freedom was on full display again last week at a Congressional hearing held by the House Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice. While some proclaimed that Christian ideals are under attack, at least one prominent witness disagreed.

“Those in the majority faith — Christians like myself — are not the ones who suffer,” said the Rev. Barry Lynn. “They have no serious impediments.”

And if that isn't enough, consider that “Duck Dynasty” producer Deirdre Gurney finally spoke out in support of Phil Robertson in the wake of his controversial comments about homosexuality last December.

“I know how he treats a crew that has several gay people on the crew, people of different races and people from all different places and who love this show … and this family treats them like family," she said.

The “Duck Dynasty” controversy clearly isn’t over yet. In fact, two civilian Air Force staffers were in for a big surprise when they publicly displayed support for Phil Roberson (hint: some of their peers weren't too happy about it).

Moving on...sometimes all it takes to get people to believe you is a stage and a mic. At least, that’s the idea explored in one upcoming film that parodies Christian scandals.

“There are a lot of funny things that believers of all religions do. We wanted to hold up a mirror to those funny things,” director Will Bakke told TheBlaze.
