White Man's Whore': Actress Reveals Horrific Online Backlash She's Received as a Result of Her Mixed-Race Marriage

It's no secret that "Sister Sister" star Tamera Mowry is blissfully married to Fox News correspondent Adam Housely, but what some might not have known is that the actress has faced intense online abuse over their mixed-race relationship.

Mowry, 35, tearfully recounted the name-calling and mistreatment she has received as a result of her marriage to Housely in an interview for Oprah Winfrey's "Oprah: Where Are They Now?"

She appeared on the segment alongside her twin sister and co-star Tia.

The response from online haters has apparently been so intense that Mowry told Winfrey she never experienced "so much hate" in her life until after her 2011 nuptials, The Daily Mail reported.

"See, this is where I get emotional, because it's hurtful," Mowry said through tears. "Because when my husband and I are so openly -- and we're fine with showing -- is love. Love. But people choose to look past love and spew hate."

The actress shared specific examples of the comments that have been directed at her primarily on Twitter, saying she's been called a "white man's whore" among other insults.

One individual even reportedly said "back in the day you cost $300, but now you're giving it to him for free" -- a comment that visibly stunned her sister.

Despite the hateful response, Mowry said she loves Housely very much and that she's proud of the family they have built and of their relationship, which she said is built on pure love.

The actress said the response is particularly bizarre to her, as she and Tia grew up in a mixed-race home. The two shared that their mother is black and their father is white.

Mowry, a Christian, also revealed last year in an interview with Hot97, a New York City radio station, that she waited until she was 29 to lose her virginity.

"I’m religious, so I waited until I was 29 to lose my virginity and then, you may not understand this," she said of her decision, "[but] I did it and then I felt guilty and then I became celibate until I got married."
