Andrew Scott Boguslawski, 43, was stopped on Jan. 1 for allegedly traveling 85 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone. Upon pulling him over, officers discovered that the Indiana man was carrying nearly 50 bombs, in addition to four guns, according to the Madison-Press.

Assistant Madison County Prosecutor Nick Adkins said Boguslawski, who is in jail on a $1 million bond, poses a significant threat to the community.

“I think there is a significant risk to the public,” he said, according to the Madison-Press. “Until we can sort through the facts of this case and what we have here and what his intent was, it is necessary to keep the public safe.”

Investigators are reportedly now trying to learn what Boguslawski, who doesn't have "any real criminal history," planned to do with the explosives.

"He did not make any type of statement,” Adkins reportedly said. “He did not want to make any statement.”

Nevertheless, authorities hope that his laptop and GPS system will provide clues.

“We are hopeful they will reveal some indication what his intent was,” Adkins reportedly said, adding that authorities are "reviewing the information as it comes in and considering how we are going to proceed."

According to Adkins, the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, as well as U.S. Department of Justice, are assisting in the investigation and "looking for a link to any known terrorist operations and to identify the intended target."

This story has been updated to reflect that Boguslawski is in jail on a $1 million bond.
