"Asiana Airlines has decided not to proceed with the case since KTVU has issued a formal apology and in order for us to focus all our efforts on managing the aftermath of the accident," the South Korean company said in a statement, according to Reuters.

The airline had been exploring the possibility of legal action over the "demeaning report," in which a news anchor read aloud names including "Sum Ting Wong" and "Ho Lee Fuk." The names had been confirmed by an intern with the National Transportation Safety Board.

Asiana said their reputation was "seriously damaged" by the report.

More than 180 passengers and crew members were also injured in the crash.
