Who Wore a T-Shirt Mixing Sandy Hook Victims and Trayvon Martin to the MTV Movie Awards and Said It Wasn't 'Political'?

Actor Jamie Foxx showed up to Sunday's MTV Movie Awards wearing a t-shirt that piqued the interest of attendees and media, alike. On his clothing, the words "Know Justice. No Peace" surrounded images of Trayvon Martin and the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Foxx told MTV hosts Josh Horowitz and Karlie Kloss on the red carpet that the shirt wasn't meant to be a political statement, but that, instead, he wore it to merely honor the children, the Daily Mail reports.

MTV has more about Foxx's decision to wear the t-shirt:

Joined by his "Django Unchained" co-star Kerry Washington, Foxx explained to Pre-Show hosts Josh Horowitz and Karlie Kloss that he wanted to pay homage to Trayvon Martin and the grade-school students at the center of the December 2012 Newtown, Connecticut, shootings. Using the hashtag #JustABlip on his Twitter account, Foxx said he was trying to keep pressing issues at the forefront but without hitting anyone over the head with the message.

"Just a little blip just to keep our minds — not political or anything like that — just think about the children. My daughter's here, 19 years old, so just protecting our kids that's all," Foxx said.

During the show, Foxx also wore the t-shirt on stage when he accepted the award for "Best WTF Moment" along with fellow actor Samuel L. Jackson. The honor was for the duo's performance in the controversial film "Django Unchained."

The scene for which they were awarded in the slavery-themed movie, Daily Mail notes, is the one in which  they burned down the Candieland plantation.
