Disgraced Former Rutgers Coach Fired for Abusing Players Found to Be Coaching...12-Year-Old Girls

"Just so we're clear, the bullying [a**hole] who physically and mentally abused his own players while on camera and was subsequently fired is coaching 12-year-old girls."

Mike Rice, the disgraced former Rutgers coach fired after video surfaced of him verbally and physically abusing his players (read up here), has popped up with another coaching gig -- one that you probably didn't expect: He's coaching 12-year-old girls.

The revelation came after Brian Geltzeiler, of Hoopscritic.com, started tweeting out information from a source who was watching an AAU game featuring the girls team. And according to the tweets, Rice may still be belittling his players:

He later went on to say that his source was a friend who happened to be a dad for the opposing team.

Shortly after the tweets starting circulating, local media confirmed the story. Apparently, Rice has been coaching the team since he started at Rutgers and his daughter is a player.

And parents of the players are not at all worried about Rice's antics spilling over.

“The Deadspin report is a gross misrepresentation of the facts,” once source told SNY.tv, referencing sports site Deadspin.com and its write-up of the story. “The team’s parents are fully behind Coach Rice and his instruction of their daughters.”

As for that Deadspin report, it didn't hold back: "Just so we're clear, the bullying [a**hole] who physically and mentally abused his own players while on camera and was subsequently fired is coaching 12-year-old girls. It is gross, that's for sure."
