The latest gun control ad from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg features the families of several Newtown victims remembering their loved ones and calling for the passage of more gun legislation.

The one-minute spot includes Neil Heslin, father of Jesse Lewis, describing the last day he dropped his son off at school on Dec. 14.

"He gave me a hug and a kiss and said 'I love you dad, and I love mom too,'" Heslin says. "I got a 911 call, there was a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School...that was the last I ever saw Jesse alive."

"She just wanted to teach little kids. And that was her goal. And she died doing it," says Gilles Rousseau, father of teacher Lauren Rousseau.

Also featured are Chris and Lynn McDonnell, parents of student Grace McDonnell and Jillian Soto, sister of teacher Vicky Soto.

"Don't let the memory of Newtown fade without doing something real," says Terri Rousseau, Lauren's mother.

The ad closes with the words "comprehensive background checks," "limit high-capacity magazines," and "assault weapons ban."

Bloomberg announced Saturday that he was putting $12 million into a national ad campaign for more gun control measures.

The ad will air in the Hartford, Conn. market where gun legislation is pending in the state's capital.
