Patriots, the Liberty Tree, and a Shirtless Man? Here's Your Recap of Glenn Beck's 12-City 'Agenda 21' Tour

Glenn Beck wrapped up his 12-city book tour for Agenda 21 over the weekend, and it was not without surprises.

For those who aren't familiar, Agenda 21 is a "faction" thriller about what could happen if the United Nations' Agenda 21 program becomes fully implemented in cities across America. Based largely on "sustainable development," many worry about the amount of control being handed over to those who want to decrease the impact humans have on Earth and the environment.

"Just a generation ago, this place was called America," the book's description begins. "Now, after the worldwide implementation of a UN-led program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as 'the Republic.' There is no president. No Congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom...There are only the authorities."

Thousands stopped by, some waiting in lines for hours for a chance to get their book signed and share a quick word with Beck. Many said they didn't mind the lines. Disappointed by the results of the 2012 election, a number of patrons said they needed the reminder that they are not alone in their way of thinking.

“It was worth it,” one Pennsylvania resident who reportedly spent two hours in line said.

One GlennBeck.com commenter added:

"I live in Johnstown, two hours from Cranberry...got up at 4am..drove to [Pittsburgh]...arrived to be number 6 in line and joined Costco at 7am....glad I did..shared many hours in line with like minded Patriots...great day and got to shake Glenn's hand..."

It appears as though the Pittsburgh stop was one of the most lively. Well over a thousand people came, and Beck's co-author Harriet Parke was also able to attend.

One unique aspect of Beck's relationship with his audience is that he feels like he has a personal relationship with its members. Coupled with his love of history, Beck consequently finds himself on the receiving end of extraordinarily unique gifts.

At the signing in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Beck received a piece of wood salvaged from one of the 13 original Liberty Trees. Presented to him by Peter Lillback, the author of George Washington's Sacred Fire, those who were present say even Beck was taken aback.

And what is a 12-city adventure if you're not going to sample the local cuisine? Apparently the group stumbled upon a restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio that served a jaw-dropping five pound, 39,000 calorie meal.

Featured in the Travel Channel's "Man V. Food," its description reads:

“Our monster grilled cheese featuring 13 different cheeses, 3 slices of grilled bread and a pile of hand-cut fries & slaw. Over 5 lbs. of food! Finish it all without any help or trips to the bathroom and you will be awarded a Melt t-shirt or Melt Pint Glass, a $10 gift card and we’ll immortalize you in our online Melt Challenge Hall of Fame.”

Beck also ran into Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North at a book signing in Fort Hood, Texas, where North was promoting his own book, Heroes Proved.

Apparently The Waco Trib had a difficult time getting people to divulge their names for quotes, since many were getting the autographed books as a surprise for the holidays.
