Pat Robertson Unleashes Christmas Rant: Atheists Are 'Miserable' Grinches Who 'Don't Like Our Happiness' & 'Want to Steal Your Holiday

"We have lighted trees and it's just a beautiful thing."

Atheist activists will likely take issue with religious broadcaster Pat Roberson and his harsh critique of their tactics -- and worldview. On CBN's "The 700 Club," Robertson recently addressed the ongoing "War on Christmas," telling viewers that "the Grinch" may very literally be trying to steal Christmas.

"The Grinch is trying to steal our holiday," the faith leader said of ongoing atheistic attacks on religious sentiment. "It's been so beautiful. The nation comes together. We sing Christmas carols. We give gifts to each other. We have lighted trees and it's just a beautiful thing."

As for non-believing activists' motivations for waging a "War on Christmas," Robertson said that the problem may be rooted in secular Americans' unhappiness and purported miserable nature -- a Grinch-like worldview that he claims they'd like to impose on society as a whole.

"Atheists don't like our happiness. They don't want you to be happy," he proclaimed. "They want you to be miserable. They're miserable so they want you to be miserable. So they want to steal your holiday away from you."
