WaPo ‘journalist’ gloats about shutting down ‘bad’ speech

In yesterday's WTF MSM!? newsletter, I wrote about how CNN media critic/cheerleader Brian Stelter, the Washington Post’s Aaron Blake, and a posse of blue checkmarks bullied the Newseum into removing a hilarious “FAKE NEWS” T-shirt from its online store. Today, the Newseum informed me that the shirt I ordered BEFORE it took the shirt out of the store will not ship and that I will receive a refund. That’s when Blake did a victory dance on Twitter.

Let’s wind back. On Friday, when Blake originally tweeted a link to a story about the shirt, I went and ordered one.

Not having received any form of follow-up communication on my order, yesterday I emailed the Newseum store. This morning, the Newseum notified me that it will not be shipping my shirt. I shared this email on Twitter and noted that Stelter and Blake bullied the Newseum into the action.

Blake got giddy and took credit shortly after.

Note how Blake calls it a “bad t-shirt.” A journalist, who is protected by the First Amendment, is gleefully celebrating the suppression of “bad” speech. As I mentioned yesterday, this attitude comes from the same motives that make CNN’s Oliver Darcy take a victory lap for getting someone banned on social media for speech he doesn’t like.

The media’s crusade against free speech isn’t going to stop at T-shirts or InfoWars. And it won’t stop at you and me.
