In the fight against a government that stands opposed to our values, Selina Soule is one of the heroes we must get behind

David to Goliath: "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel." —1 Samuel 17:45-46

Our own government has been weaponized against us. Instead of guarding liberty, it sets traps for its citizens and taunts them as lessers who deserve to be ruled.

A rare hiccup in that plan was recently reported, when the former staffer of a Democrat congresswoman was sentenced to prison for "doxxing" multiple Senate Republicans in the wake of the hearings to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

No crisis has been averted, though. For the former staffer who did such a thing is legion within government, corporate America, education, and entertainment. And whereas the GOP upper crust was afforded a measure of justice, some of those same victims — I'm looking at you, Ditch McConnell — likely wouldn't lift a hand if you and I were so treated. In fact, they might encourage or applaud our demise as reality is bent toward dystopia all around us.

Our list of allies grows thin, Aragorn.

We look around us and wonder who will stand in the breach before it is too late. But it occurs to far too few of us that such a somebody may in fact be the man in the mirror. When our moment comes, no matter how grand or how publicized, do we do what must be done to advance and protect the good, the true, and the beautiful? Or do we cave, capitulate, and cower while calling it somebody else's problem?

Well, at least there are three girls from Connecticut who say to hell with that noise.

They have filed a federal discrimination complaint against a state "education" policy on transgender athletes, because boys who feel pretty (or are mentally ill) in their state have been allowed to rob them of podium finishes in recent years. One of the usurpers broke 10 state records. Anybody have any idea why this isn't being filed under #metoo?

Instead, the only girl named in the suit, Selina Soule, said she has faced her own private sort of doxxing from school officials and coaches too woke to be bothered by the fact they are destroying everything Title IX hoped to achieve.

She isn't shrinking from the moment, though, like so many do. She has stepped into the shoes of Rosa Parks and made her righteous claim, while surrounded by frauds and fiends on every side, that enough is enough.

I have no idea what this girl's politics are in general and I don't care. She is a true hero and a freedom fighter of the first order. When one race was insanely taken from her by mob-endorsed deviance on the track, she stepped to the line, grabbed the baton in the larger cultural race to Armageddon before her, and promised the rest of us she would run as hard as she could to win on behalf of those little girls who have not yet been robbed of the dignity she has been.

What a crime it will be if we let her stand alone. What a scandal if her fortitude is not cause for a great turning of the tide. Because if we can't get this right, the obvious difference between men and women, then we are truly a nation beyond the reaches of hope and justice.

The menacing shadow of Goliath now hovers over Selina Soule and her friends. Who will join them in the Valley of Elah?
