Democrats won in key state elections around the country Tuesday night. On today’s show, Glenn looked at the election in Virginia and what it meant.
Virginians decisively elected a Democratic governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general, while in the Virginia House of Delegates, Republicans lost their majority.
Glenn pointed out that from a national standpoint, the key takeaway from this election is that “blue” voters are becoming more blue, and “red” voters are becoming more red. We are more divided than ever.
“The moderates and the middle ground are disappearing,” Glenn said. “The most eye-popping thing you will see on the map is that urban areas have turned so blue and rural areas have turned so red that it almost drains the red and blue cones from your eyes.”
