NY Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand calls Monday's hearing for Kavanaugh and Christine Ford a 'sham
September 21, 2018
On Friday's episode of "The Morning Blaze," Doc Thompson discussed Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand's latest interview on CNN. Gillibrand spoke out against the Senate Judiciary Committee, which was seeking to hear Christine Blasey Ford's testimony on Monday against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
Doc said, "Kirsten Gillibrand, senator from New York, making that really solid point that she 'believes Dr. Ford'."
In the CNN interview, Gillibrand said, "I believe her. I stand with her. I don't think she should be bullied into this scenario, where it's a he-said-she-said ... without the benefit of a full investigation."
Gillibrand contradicted her initial statement, chastising members of the Judiciary Committee saying they "already made up their minds." She went on to call Monday's hearing a "sham."
Gillibrand also suggested that without an FBI investigation Ford will not be treated fairly and should avoid testifying.
"Does she not hear herself?" Doc asked. "Not only do hashtag women never lie, but also hashtag women are omnipotent."
Doc asserted that Gillibrand's aides should pull her aside and coach her a bit when she makes such glaring contradictory statements.
