TV news anchor says Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted her 18-year-old son last year

Former Boston television news anchor Heather Unruh on Wednesday accused actor Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting her son while on Nantucket Island in 2016.

According to WBZ-TV, Unruh revealed the reported behavior at a Boston press conference alongside attorney Mitchell Garabedian, where she spoke of inappropriate behavior that Spacey reportedly engaged in with her son, who was 18 years old at the time.

What did she say?

Unruh said that the incident occurred at a bar in Nantucket when her son was reportedly drunk.

She described her son as a "star-struck, straight, 18-year-old young man, who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim."

According to Unruh, Spacey "stuck his hand down my son's pants and grabbed his genitals" after he'd reportedly bought the underage teen several drinks. Unruh noted that her son had told Spacey that he was of legal drinking age.

She said her son froze and panicked in response to the reported assault before fleeing the bar when Spacey paid a visit to the bathroom.

During the conference, Unruh added that her son did not report the alleged crime to law enforcement out of embarrassment and fear, but did tell her and other family members immediately after the alleged assault occurred.

Unruh said that she discussed the allegations with a local sheriff, who urged her to file a report against Spacey.

She revealed that her son took the advice of the sheriff just last week.

In an email to WBZ, Nantucket Police Lt. Angus C. MacVicar wrote, "We cannot confirm nor deny any such report was filed. Reports of sexual assaults are confidential under Mass. General Law."

Tara L. Miltmore, a spokesperson for the Cape and Islands district attorney's office, told Boston.com, "An individual has provided information to the Nantucket Police regarding an allegation of an indecent assault and battery. The individual is represented by an attorney. We are waiting to hear from him."

"To Kevin Spacey, I want to say this," Unruh told reporters. "Shame on you for what you did to my son."

At the time of this writing, 14 accusers have come forward and levied allegations of sexual misconduct against Spacey.
